Moving and copying property definitions
If you accidentally create a property definition in the wrong property set or want to copy a property definition within a property set, you can do so easily with the Property Organizer. You can also use the Property Organizer to see the Name, Code, Type, and object default options of all custom properties in a workspace in one view.
To work with the Property Organizer:
- In the Settings view, expand the name of the workspace in which the custom properties exist that you want to view or edit and click Custom properties. A page listing the existing custom property sets appears.
- Click Property Organizer. A new window opens that lists the existing property sets and, within each set, the existing property definitions. The lists are sorted as they will appear on property pages. The object default options for each property set and the Name, Code, and Type options of each property definition are shown as columns. An Actions column shows the available commands for each property definition.
- To move a property definition from one property set to another, click Move in the Actions column for the property definition that you want to move. A new window opens to show the available move options.
- Select a property set as the destination of the property definition and click Move. The move options window refreshes to show the result of the move and the Property Organizer window refreshes to show the property definition moved to the destination property set.
- In the move options window, click Close.
To copy a property definition within the same property set, click Copy in the Actions column for the property definition that you want to copy. A new window opens to show the available copy options.
- Edit the default property name and property code and click Copy. The copy options window refreshes to show the result of the copy and the Property Organizer window refreshes to show the property definition copied within the property set.
- In the copy options window, click Close.
